Kathleen Ahrens is Professor and Head of the Language Centre at Hong Kong Baptist University. She received her doctoral degree in linguistics in University of California, San Diego, USA, and has been published articles on lexical meanings and metaphors in academic journals and magazines. She is also an author and a translator, and is the International Regional Advisor Chair of Society of Children's Books Writers and Illustrators. She has been invited to give speeches on the text of children's books, the evaluation of children's books, and the creation of children's books in Taiwan, Germany, Hong Kong, and many other countries and regions.
