The 9th Picture Book Award Winning Books

Synopsis

This is a humorous and witty picture book imbued with rich local flavor. The work narrates the story of an elderly man from Xinjiang, Grandpa Mulati, who set off to Beijing with his donkeys to visit his old friends. Throughout the journey, they climbed mountains and crossed rivers, and as they moved forward, a magnificent and delightful tapestry of life unfolded, depicting a warm and caring daily routine among people. Children, while laughing heartily, can not only immerse themselves in the joyful and winding journey but also appreciate the value of friendship and the warm feelings among people.

As an original picture book for integrated publishing, this book invites the internationally renowned yangqin master Guo Min passionately to provide music. By scanning the QR code in the book, readers can listen to the cheerful melodies, which complement the text and illustrations perfectly, creating a vivid and culturally rich journey on paper.
