Synopsis

This is a picture book which nicely incorporates traditional lotus culture, Chinese art of artistic conception, and popular science of plants. It poetically presents the whole life journey of lotus seeds, that how they sprout, come into leaves, bud, blossom, fruit heart-shaped lotus seeds, and turn to enter the mud again, in the form of Chinese painting. More importantly, this book not only elegantly presents the changes in the four seasons of lotus, but also shows its vigorous vitality, and the cultural charm it contains.

Graduated from the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Ying is a member of the China Association for Science Writers and currently works at a school in Zhejiang. She planned and led numerous nature education activities and have published multiple articles in popular science magazines such as "Knowledge is Power," "We Love Science," and "World of Life." Additionally, she assisted publishing institutions in proofreading several scientific books.

Hua Qing

Outstanding Children's Picture Book Award

graduated from the Chinese National Academy of Arts with a Bachelor's degree in Chinese Painting. She then pursued her studies at the Department of Fine Arts, Chinese National Academy of Arts, where they obtained a Master's degree. She went on to pursue a Ph.D. degree in the specialty of Flower and Bird Painting at the same institution.
