Su Lee and Annie Ho Ting Rejoin BMABHK Board to Advance Community Literacy through Feng Zikai Award

The Feng Zikai Chinese Children's Picture Book Award (FZK Award) announces the return of its Governors, Su Lee and Annie Ho Ting, to the Board of Bring Me A Book Hong Kong Ltd (BMABHK). This strategic reappointment will amplify the Award's mission to champion original Chinese children's picture book and expand literacy programs across Greater China and internationally.
As the founder and former Board Chair of BMABHK, respectively, Su Lee and Annie Ho Ting have been instrumental in shaping the charity's legacy of promoting children's literacy in Hong Kong. Their return brings unparalleled experience and visionary leadership to further elevate the FZK Award's role in cultivating appreciation for original Chinese picture books worldwide.
Established in 2008, the Award was the first international prize of its kind and has since grown into the most prestigious recognition for Chinese children's picture books. To date, 22 of the Award's 52 winning titles have been licensed for publication across 12 countries and regions—a testament to the universal appeal of Chinese storytelling.
Building upon the success of its biennial award ceremonies, the FZK Award will extend the reach and impact of Chinese children's picture books by leveraging BMABHK's expertise through an innovative community program. This initiative will include:
- A curated bookshelf containing all 52 winning titles of the Feng Zikai Chinese Children's Picture Book Award, with more to come as the Award progresses.
- An innovative picture book curriculum, a pedagogical framework designed to empower educators in fostering children's discovery and appreciation of high-quality original Chinese picture books.
- Teachers' workshop series, offering guided activities, discussion prompts, and creative extension exercises to enrich the reading experience.
These programs aim to advance the organization's enduring mission: to enrich communities through meaningful reading experiences that inspire connection, reflection, and joyful learning in classrooms and at home.
Marking its 20th anniversary, BMABHK will host its final READCONNECT Community Day on Saturday, 7 March 2026 in Taipo, Hong Kong, a team of storytelling ambassadors will lead invited families through an interactive day of storytelling and creative activities, featuring three FZK Award-winning titles specially selected for the community. This event opens an exciting new chapter, blending two decades of community outreach with curated reading and educational resources. The FZK Award will continue BMABHK's mission to foster a lasting appreciation for Chinese language and culture.
